The Beginning of Steam & Stars
2020 and 2021 have been difficult times for us all. We feel very fortunate to have a long-awaited for project to keep us busy throughout this time.
Where better to start the story of Steam & Stars than the beginning...
A little about us
We are Bee and Trevor and we moved to Sampford Brett, West Somerset in June 2016 with Bee's Mum, Jill who had come to need a daughters care. We erected a polytunnel and tended the soil in the hope of producing enough fruit and veg for ourselves, neighbours, friends and passing walkers along the adjacent MacMillan Way west footpath.
Wonderful views of the Quantock Hills form a spectacular backdrop to the West Somerset Railway line that passes our property about 300 yards away. We frequently pinch ourselves to make sure we’re not dreaming as we feel so very fortunate to live in such a lovely place. Every time a train passes we stop what we’re doing and look up to watch it pass, the excitement is ever present. After we lost Jill, Bee returned to work and we started thinking… ‘Wouldn’t it be good to share the fabulous views, the heritage trains passing and the starry night skies with others?’
